VIM Trip April 18, 2015
This one day work trip involved gleaning materials from two flood-buy-out houses in Mocanaqua PA for use in other flood damaged house recovery projects ongoing by our VIM teams.
The first photo shows the water crest level of some of the major floods there, this one in Sept 2011 caused by Tropical Storm Lee being the worst ever recorded. The first floor of most of the houses along this street are just a couple feet above this sidewalk, so you can see the height of the water that inundated theses homes, perhaps 10 feet or more!
Items removed for use elsewhere included 2 sets of like new kitchen cabinetry, granite tops, sinks, doors, laminated flooring, carpet, light fixtures, medicine cabinets, heaters, switches, receptacles, electrical panels, ceiling fans and a water heater.
Watch the "Upcoming trips" tab for an opportunity to serve and meet new friends!
