VIM Trip September, 2015
This was a 12 day work trip to Willow, Alaska where there were many wild fires this past summer, destroying about 30 homes in the area. The church there serves as the area's food bank as well as financial counseling and employment help.
Due to the large increase in need due to the fires, the food bank needed much more storage space for supplies, to bring in what will be needed for the winter. We built a 24 x 20 storage building with an enclosed hallway connecting it to the old distribution area. We accomplished all but finishing the drywall inside and siding outside (which can wait until spring). Church members there finished the drywall and trim and dedicated the building on November 15, just in time for winter.
